I’m usually a book is better gal, but the Netflix documentary is better than this audiobook。

The writing style was a bit too poetic and eclectic for me。 I had a really hard time focusing and getting past ALL the metaphors。

If you've watched the Netflix documentary, the book is a more detailed version of that。 I have to be honest - I always figured the one dimensional sex kitten, fluff Pamela Anderson was the real Pam but like most people there is more than meets the eye here。 Way more。Extremely well read, socially conscious, a hands on, interested mother and a halfway decent writer - Pam is just as surprising when clothed as she was in her Playboy heyday。Bonus she includes a bunch of her poetry throughout the book If you've watched the Netflix documentary, the book is a more detailed version of that。 I have to be honest - I always figured the one dimensional sex kitten, fluff Pamela Anderson was the real Pam but like most people there is more than meets the eye here。 Way more。Extremely well read, socially conscious, a hands on, interested mother and a halfway decent writer - Pam is just as surprising when clothed as she was in her Playboy heyday。Bonus she includes a bunch of her poetry throughout the book。 。。。more

She's not like other girls, she's different! This is really more of a 2。5, but doesn't it feel weird to rate someone's memoir? I was taken aback by how this was written—there's poetry, there are flowery sentences, there was definitely not a ghostwriter。 I finished it in a day because it felt like reading someone's blog post, or something。 Still, it was endearing to see the way Pamela tells her own story, which I believe is probably not how most people would want her to tell it—i。e。, lacking deta She's not like other girls, she's different! I don't think that was ever the intention, but this cracked me up。 I think Pamela is such a legend, and her life is wild, and she really lives up to her wild child status。 That said, the writing in this book was frustrating and sometimes downright silly。 Why weren't there any dates? Major life events were glossed over in a paragraph or two, and relationships that would've been interesting came and went so quickly it was hard to feel anything about them at all。Still, she romanticizes every single little thing and I can't say I blame her。 It helps her。 I think this book will help a lot of people like her, too, seeing that they aren't alone in finding beauty and meaning in everything just to get by。 She's definitely more flawed than I realized, and I think I would've liked her to reflect on that a little more, but I also totally understand why she didn't。 What a woman。 It read like it came from a place of defensiveness, and for that reason I find this a fascinating read—just not what I was expecting。 I'm really proud of her for telling her story her way。 。。。more

3。75⭐️s。 I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this memoir。 I had never seen beyond the caricature other than her involvement in PETA。 Pamela is a very complex, soulful, learned woman and devoted mother and daughter。 There were a few “shocking” tidbits but mostly it read as an honest, vulnerable memoir of her life thus far。
Steve Barber Jr。,
Fabulous。 I had no idea how beautifully poetic Miss Anderson is。 I've been a life long fan, and it was lovely, yet sad at times to hear her part of the story。 Fabulous。 I had no idea how beautifully poetic Miss Anderson is。 I've been a life long fan, and it was lovely, yet sad at times to hear her part of the story。 。。。more

This book was more a story of her involvement in animal activism and animal rights than a biography。 It’s a very glossed over, vague summary of her life。 You get more details about caught Beluga whales and orphanages she helped in Russia than you do about her relationship with Tommy Lee, Baywatch or her kids。 I expected more。 I was left disappointed and unfulfilled。 I did enjoy the fact that she narrated her own story。
Keira,
I really enjoyed this book and the format it was written in。 The poem to passage or passage to poem was something that really intrigued me。 There are things from “Love, Pamela” that has truly shown me that she is a person too, as is everyone in the industry, and deserves better。 I would definitely recommend reading this if you ever get a chance。 I think that people will absolutely enjoy this book and as for me, I plan on reading this again。 :)
Amanda Tyson,
I love Pam and the work she has done for animal rights。 I wanted to love this and listened to her read the audiobook。 The way she reads it feels emotionless。 Her voice has almost a baby tone to it, and rarely has inflection, and so it was hard to get through。 I had to drag myself through the last hour just in case there were any last minute juicy goodies。 There were not。 I was hoping to have a deep dive into Pamela’s life, and it gave a birds eye view。 It gave a broad insight to the life she liv I love Pam and the work she has done for animal rights。 I wanted to love this and listened to her read the audiobook。 The way she reads it feels emotionless。 Her voice has almost a baby tone to it, and rarely has inflection, and so it was hard to get through。 I had to drag myself through the last hour just in case there were any last minute juicy goodies。 There were not。 I was hoping to have a deep dive into Pamela’s life, and it gave a birds eye view。 It gave a broad insight to the life she lived and I kept wishing for her to go deeper into the details。 Part of me wonders if she wanted to set her story straight in regard to the s*x tape, which this book did。 There are mentions of animal abuse, one which particularly haunted me; as well as mention of SA, r*ape, and physical abuse。 I would not recommend this book。 。。。more

Beautiful writing style I found this book not only enjoyable but unexpectedly challenging regarding her expansive vocabulary and ability to write in such a visceral manner。 I admittedly had to look up some definitions, and I am quite the bookworm。 Not only did I get to learn about her interesting life, but the journey itself was enlightening。

3 stars for content, 5 stars for bravery。It was a nice introduction to Pamela but as others have stated, it was a bit disorganized and boring。 I think her point was to explain that she is truly more than the media portrayed her。 Lord knows she and Tommy were unbelievably harassed and they cracked under the pressure。 I do believe that the infamous tape was a complete invasion of their privacy and should have never been released to the public。 It’s unfortunate (but understandable) why they didn’t 3 stars for content, 5 stars for bravery。It was a nice introduction to Pamela but as others have stated, it was a bit disorganized and boring。 I think her point was to explain that she is truly more than the media portrayed her。 Lord knows she and Tommy were unbelievably harassed and they cracked under the pressure。 I do believe that the infamous tape was a complete invasion of their privacy and should have never been released to the public。 It’s unfortunate (but understandable) why they didn’t fight harder against it。 I would not have risked the life of my unborn child either。I feel like a good PR person could have helped them navigate through it in a more positive way but perhaps it was already the beginning of the end for Pam and Tommy anyway。 Had they been given a chance, it would be interesting to see where their lives together would be today。 Pamela is absolutely stunning and I wonder what she would have accomplished beyond her “scarlet letter。”The rest of her life was described in a few sentences here and there with lots of fancy names thrown in。 Not at all what I would have expected but I empathize with her because I can’t imagine how hard it would be to put yourself out there in a vulnerable state after having been so exposed, and ultimately criticized, to that point。 It would take years of therapy for even the strongest among us and there was no mention of mental intervention on her behalf。 That’s unfortunate because it could have made such a difference for her。Anyway, Pamela moved forward with what she knew, raised her sons and traveled the world fighting for the causes she believes in。 Not a bad life, all things considered。 I’m happy that she was able to share what she can。 We all need a little more grace。 Best wishes, Pamela 🤍 。。。more

Pamela Anderson is such an interesting figure and the more I learn about her, the more that is confirmed。 After watching her Netflix documentary I was curious and wanted to learn more from her about her experiences, specifically her career in the 90’s and all that came after。 This book was written beautifully and edited very well。 She never lingered too long in any one anecdote, and spent the exact right amount of time on everything。 Other celebrities should take note of her style。 She name drop Pamela Anderson is such an interesting figure and the more I learn about her, the more that is confirmed。 After watching her Netflix documentary I was curious and wanted to learn more from her about her experiences, specifically her career in the 90’s and all that came after。 This book was written beautifully and edited very well。 She never lingered too long in any one anecdote, and spent the exact right amount of time on everything。 Other celebrities should take note of her style。 She name drops the content she consumes constantly, and if she was a graduate student at NYU I would find it intolerable, but because she is who she is I found it informative and intriguing。 Her voice performance on the audiobook was compelling and very moving。 Now doing a small Baywatch binge, thinking about the career she might have had if life was fair to women。 。。。more

I’m not usually one to read memoirs, but when I saw one of Pamela’s interviews where she spoke of the process of writing this book, I was intrigued。 It sounded like she’d done some deep inner work, and I was curious to know more about her life。 I grew up seeing her everywhere, but never really knowing much about her。 Love, Pamela is a beautiful, heart-wrenching, poetic roller coaster ride that I’m so glad I went on。 I’ve never encountered a writing style quite like Pamela’s。 I feel like she came I’m not usually one to read memoirs, but when I saw one of Pamela’s interviews where she spoke of the process of writing this book, I was intrigued。 It sounded like she’d done some deep inner work, and I was curious to know more about her life。 I grew up seeing her everywhere, but never really knowing much about her。 Love, Pamela is a beautiful, heart-wrenching, poetic roller coaster ride that I’m so glad I went on。 I’ve never encountered a writing style quite like Pamela’s。 I feel like she came into my living room, grabbed my hand and took me on a wild adventure the likes of which I’ll likely never experience myself。 I loved her mixture of poetry, quotes and prose, and was totally absorbed by her stories。 What a life。 This book is real and raw。 I know lots of people wanted more juicy details, but to quote Pamela, “I think some parts are best left unsaid…leaving it powerless。” Pamela’s memoir feels like admiring a 200+ page painting - we can only take it in so far - and never fully understand the artist’s process or inner world。 That’s what makes any piece of art magnificent。 。。。more

Surprising, one of the better memoirs I’ve read lately。 Having read numerous Motley Crue memoirs over the years, it was interesting to see some events through Pamela’s eyes instead of Tommy’s。 She mentions people from her past unapologetically, but also with class and warmth。
Erica Sawyer,
I had watched the documentary on Netflix and as a memoir lover decided to give this a shot。 I just have to say Pamela Anderson comes across as someone with the brains to go with her beauty。 Her devotion to her children shines in this book but also just what a good person she is。 I was very impressed, having not known much about her outside the media portrayal。
Jami Birney,
Pamela has such lyrical writing。 I was pulled in from the first chapter。 I love learning about celebrity's lives and getting a behind the scene look into their every day。 The media obscures so much and it is hard to know what is true or false。 Pamela overcame so many obstacles throughout her life but was still able to become successful and followed her heart with every decision that she made。 Pamela has such lyrical writing。 I was pulled in from the first chapter。 I love learning about celebrity's lives and getting a behind the scene look into their every day。 The media obscures so much and it is hard to know what is true or false。 Pamela overcame so many obstacles throughout her life but was still able to become successful and followed her heart with every decision that she made。 。。。more

We all have an idea who Pamela Anderson is。 Playboy Model, Baywatch Babe, and Tabloid Target。 But who is the real woman behind the celebrity image? She finally tells her own story in Love, Pamela。She grew up in Canada and it was there that she learned to love nature and animals, even though her childhood was not exactly idyllic。 After school, she was searching for a path for herself, and a chance discovery at a Canadian football game led her into a whirlwind she couldn't dare to imagine。 Fame。 m We all have an idea who Pamela Anderson is。 Playboy Model, Baywatch Babe, and Tabloid Target。 But who is the real woman behind the celebrity image? Love, Pamela is a memoir written by Pamela Anderson。 She had me turning the pages with her engaging writing, which included poetry as well as prose。 If you read this memoir, you will quickly realize that there is much more to Pamela than Playboy and a red bathing suit。 A refreshing, quick, easy, and fun read!

Not much you didn’t already knowI was not impressed with this book。 I found it to have just about everything we already knew from the press about Pamela! It was a bit boring too。 I like memoirs that speak to me as if the person is in front of me telling their story。 I didn’t get that from this book。 The last two or three chapters were probably the most interesting out of the entire book。 Some photos would have been nice too。
